Consultation Fees

Following an initial GP consultation with Priest Medical Services you may be required to undertake certain investigations, you may require a referral to a specialist doctor and indeed you may require further treatment including surgical operations.

At each stage through your journey you will incur fees and the aim of this guide is to provide you with an estimate of how much you may need to spend.

Priest Consultation Fees

Consultation (appointment) fees

    Clinic Consultation

  • £100 for a 30 minute consultation
  • £150 for a 1 hour consultation

    Other consultations:

  • Hotel / Home Visits (Day)
  • Hotel / Home Visits (Night)
  • Telephone Consultation

Health Screening

  • Standard
  • Well Woman
  • Well Man
  • Executive

Consultant Fees

In most instances you will require more than one consultation with a specialist doctor. This involves an initial consultation for diagnosis and management plan and then a follow up consultations as needed for review of investigations and treatment.

  1. Initial consultation - £200 £250 (Depending on Speciality)
  2. Follow up consultation - £120 £175 (Depending on Speciality)

Investigations

It is difficult to provide a precise estimate of the cost of your investigations as it is dependent on the number of investigations undertaken. This also varies according to your medical condition and health needs.

However as a general guide

  • Most routine blood tests cost less than £200
  • Radiology investigations vary from £150 for a basic x-ray through to £500-£700 for an MRI or CT scan.

Specialist / Hospital Prices

Further treatment at a hospital may be for any of the following

  • Minor Procedures:

    Examples of minor procedures include lump excisions, biopsies etc
    Prices typically range from £250 to £750.00

  • Minor Operations

    Examples of a minor operation include hernia treatment, cataract, endoscopies and removal of varicose veins. Prices range from £1000 to £4000.

  • Major Operations

    Examples of major operations include hip replacement and major surgery to the abdomen. Prices can range from £7000 to £12500.

  • Complex Operations

    For complex procedures such as heart and brain surgery prices start from £15,000.
    The prices quoted above represent the price of the actual operation/procedure. It does not cover things such as fees for hospital bed etc.

    Priest Medical Services offers a Fixed Price Package.

    Our all inclusive package gives patients peace of mind by knowing in advance the total cost of their treatment (not just the cost of the operation)

    It covers the following

    • Consultants' and anaesthetists' fees in relation to the operation
    • Operating theatre costs
    • Accommodation including meals etc nursing care
    • In-patient drugs and dressings
    • In-patient physiotherapy treatment
    • 5 days take home medication
    • Removal of stitches (if required)
    • The added benefit of no extra charges if a patient has to stay in hospital longer than expected- due to a clinical reason related to the original treatment.
    • Neither will there be any extra charges if complications arise directly related to the original procedure within 30 days after discharge from hospital and further treatment is necessary

    What is not included?

    • Personal expenses such as telephone calls whilst you are in hospital. These will be charged to your account for payment before leaving hospital. Please be aware this is your responsibility and not PRIEST Medical'rs.

    Finally while PRIEST will endeavour to ensure that you get the best price option for your treatment, please bear in mind that market forces ensure different hospitals charge different prices for similar treatments.
